Today’s Weather Related News 2024 : Weather related news of Assam state
Heavy rains have caused severe floods in Assam, due to which the situation is getting worse day by day. So far, 64 people have been reported dead in Assam and along with this many people are still missing. All the rivers including Brahmaputra in Assam are in spate and more than 24.20 lakh people in 30 jawans of the state have been affected by the floods.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, after reviewing the floods in Dibrugarh, has described the situation in the state as very serious and assured proper assistance to the victims.
So far 77 wildlife have been reported dead due to floods in Kaziranga National Park in Assam. Most of them are deer.
94 other animals have been safely evacuated from the flood waters. A total of 233 wildlife of the park have been sent to the camps, but so far 75 creatures are submerged in water.

Heavy rains are occurring in many states of North Western India including the heart of India and the Indian national capital Delhi. Due to rain, the problem of waterlogging has arisen on the roads. Badrinath National Highway has been closed due to landslides caused by heavy rains on Bhanerpani-Pipalkoti Naga Panchayat Road and Angthala Road in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand.
This decision has been taken by the government keeping in mind the safety of the passengers. The havoc of rain is not taking the name of ending. The Meteorological Department has predicted and predicted torrential rains in North West and East India for the next two days. Meteorological Department officials say that there is a high possibility of torrential rains in these states for the next two days.
Along with this, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert to 16 states and has requested the citizens to remain alert. The India Meteorological Department has said that there is a strong possibility of torrential rains at different places in East Rajasthan, Gujarat, Assam and Meghalaya during the last 24 hours. Due to heavy rains in Devgarh of Gangotri, the Gomukh bridge has been washed away. Due to which 30-40 pilgrims were trapped, the SDRF team worked hard and took the pilgrims to a safe place on the other side of the Kushal river. Heavy rain alert has been issued in 16 states for the next two days.

IMD has issued a red alert regarding heavy rain on Saturday and Sunday in Uttarakhand. Apart from this, an orange alert of heavy rain has been issued in Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Goa and interior Karnataka on Saturday. There is a yellow alert for Himachal, Madhya Pradesh, Bengal, Odisha, Kerala, Mizoram and Tripura. Similarly, on Sunday, Orange alert has been issued for East Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Odisha and Assam and Yellow alert has been issued for Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Tripura, Mizoram, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The Shimla-based Meteorological Department has issued a Yellow alert regarding heavy rains in the state on Saturday. Palampur has received the highest rainfall of 128 mm during the last 24 hours. Due to rain, 64 roads have been completely closed due to falling debris and power supply has been completely disrupted due to 236 transformers being damaged. Rain is also affecting 19 water supply projects, due to which water is not being supplied regularly.
Due to this, common citizens are facing water crisis. In Mandi district also, the maximum 67 roads have been closed due to rain. Seven roads in Chamba district and one each in Kangra, Lahaul and Shimla have been closed due to landslides.
