In 2024, Modi is going on a special and friendly visit to Austria and Russia for the first time. This is Modi’s first foreign visit after becoming the Prime Minister for the third consecutive time. President Putin has sent an invitation to the gracious Prime Minister Modi for the 22nd India-Russia Annual Bilateral Summit and Modi ji has graciously accepted this invitation and will be in Moscow from 8 to 9 July. This will be PM Modi’s first visit to Russia since the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in response to Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer’s social media post, said that on completion of 75 years of diplomatic relations between India and Austria, this visit becomes a special visit in itself because both the countries have completed 75 years of their close friendship. Both the countries will try to find new dimensions on mutual cooperation and goodwill for pleasant results in the future and will pave the way for successful work in the future by establishing friendly relations.
PM Modi will leave for Russia and Austria on a three-day tour from July 8. During this, Modi ji’s special meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin can take place on further increasing trade in the defense and energy sector.
In response to Austrian Chancellor Nehammer’s social media post on Sunday, the Prime Minister has expressed hope that the relations between the two countries will become stronger during this visit. The PM wrote in his post, I hope to discuss strengthening the relations between the two countries and finding new avenues of cooperation.

He said that the shared values of democracy, freedom and rule of law are the basis on which the two countries will together build a continued close partnership.
Earlier, Nehammer wrote in his post that he is very much looking forward to welcoming the Prime Minister of India, the world’s largest democratic country, to Vienna. He wrote, this visit is a special honor as it is the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to my country in more than 40 years. It is also important because we are celebrating 75 years of diplomatic relations with India.
We will have the opportunity to further strengthen our bilateral relations and talk about excellent cooperation on many geopolitical challenges. Prime Minister Modi has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Nehammer for his special remarks.
